Together, we can

Overcome our housing crisis

Linn County is in a housing crisis, but we are committed to addressing it. We have proven more than once that we know how to pull together and overcome large-scale disasters. We can do the same with housing. Be part of the solution.

Our Commitments

As the Alliance for Equitable Housing coordinates a response to the housing crisis, we commit to the following:

Making the Voice of the Community the key driver in the work
Being Efficient and to always leverage existing work first
Keeping the work Actionable

Key Issues Identified

While there were many issues identified through community conversations about the housing crisis, they generally fell into four key categories:

Stabilization

Streamline the housing & homeless services system to improve access to housing for the ‘housing challenged.’

Quality

Improve Linn County’s housing stock quality and energy efficiency to be more resilient for the increasing intensity and frequency of disasters.

Development

Increase community capacity for more housing development in Linn County in a way that addresses identified gaps.

Equity

Foster inclusive and equitable practices across all action planning groups by building relationships and championing transparency and continuous improvement through comprehensive Equity Audits.

Our Mission

Working together to create holistic housing solutions that address housing needs efficiently and realistically, while embracing the community’s voice and empowering individuals and families to thrive.

The Framework for Addressing Key Issues in Housing

The Alliance for Equitable Housing has identified a framework that allows the community to address these key issues simultaneously through dedicated action planning groups. For more information on the key housing issues identified and the framework established for addressing them, view the Alliance for Equitable Housing 2022 Progress Report.
